The Aesthetic Medicine Department of Cheng Hsin Hospital upholds the purpose of the founder, Madame Chiang Kai-shek, at the time of the hospital’s establishment: “Charity and service, while also advancing the progress of aesthetic surgery.” In the fields of rejuvenation around the eyes and face, breast augmentation, and body contouring liposculpture, we not only keep up with the forefront of the times but also conduct research on various new surgical techniques, which have been published in well-known international journals.
The Aesthetic Medicine Department especially focuses on the treatment of severe blepharoptosis and has developed the latest innovative surgical methods based on the anatomical structure of the eye. By using the technique of separating the elevator muscle through the conjunctiva incision, repositioning it downward onto the upper edge of the eyelid plate and suturing it, patients with severe blepharoptosis not only receive treatment, but also avoid the side-effects of traditional blepharoptosis surgery, for example the inability to close their eyes after the surgery. Even in severe cases of blepharoptosis, the eyes can close after our method. The articles about the surgical innovation have been accepted and published in well-known international journals.
In addition, the Aesthetic Medicine Department has superb techniques in the field of body contouring, achieving improvements in the curves of the chest, abdomen, and limbs with minimal incisions. Similarly, our recognizable results have been published in well-known international journals of aesthetic medicine.
Research areas and special awards
1. In 2015, a study on the use of hyaluronic acid fillers in the face was awarded the “Best Clinical Research Award” at the Taiwan Medical Aesthetic Conference.
2. In 2016, a study on the use of laser equipment for skin resurfacing and the prevention of scars won the “Best Basic Research Award” at the Taiwan Medical Aesthetic Conference.

3. In 2018, the distinguished honor of winning the Best Asian Breast Reconstruction Case Award was received at the Asia-Pacific Society of Breast Reconstruction and Aesthetic Surgery Conference.
